An African Tradition that has been observed over many decades is one where, before lobola negotiations proceed, the groom’s family is not allowed to enter or start negotiations with the bride’s family without offering a token of appreciation to the family. This token is referred to as “Pula Molomo” which is the enabler to start negotiations and should be something of great value.
“Pula Molomo”, is a gin which has been aged for three months using the American Oak Casks (Old Bourbon Barrels). The gin has light bourbon notes followed by Juniper and spicy notes on the palate and then finishing with smoky caramel flavors which remain at the tip of your tongue.
This gin which is best served on the rocks, with star anise or black pepper corns as garnishis a great token to start any negotiations. It can also be served as a refreshing cocktail.
